Dearest Mother… #SOL22 #Day1

Mom’s 81st Birthday, Aug 27, 2022

It has been 2 weeks and 5 days since you passed; my sister and I stood by your side, holding each hand. We hope that you felt the love from our touch that morning. Your love is with us each and every day – it’s like your heart just melted into ours as you transitioned to heaven.

Not a day goes by where I don’t think of you or shed a tear from joyous memories. Not a day goes by where I don’t wake up with you on my mind.

Mom- I never told you how strong you were in my eyes. I never said all the things I wanted to say. I never got to ask you some of the questions about your past – our families past. But, knowing this, I know our love was unconditional and the nevers really do not matter.

During this Slice of Life Challenge I plan to lift you up momma. I plan to use my writing as an honor to your legacy. You are on my mind – so why not write about it. Love you mom!

  1. I am so very sorry for your loss. Every word of your post I can relate to. My mother passed in October and there is not a moment that my heart is not bleeding for her. While I didn’t watch her pass, I will never forget kissing her forehead goodbye and feeling it starting to go cold. It sounds like your mother was as incredible as mine. My prayers are with you and your family. I wish I could say it gets easier, but in almost 5 months now it hasn’t. May we find strength in their memories.

    1. Thank you – everyone says it never gets easier but it does get better. I agree we will find strength in the memories – I already have. So sorry for your loss. Hugs.

  2. I’m very sorry. It’s beautiful to use writing as a series of tributes to your mother and as a way to celebrate her life.

  3. Reading this, I can feel your heart. It swells and it aches. So much love leaves so much to miss! You obviously had a wonderful mother! Keep writing and remembering!
